Free of charge or cost price

Within the Helfa project everything is free of charge or at cost price.
We assume that through money and barter, people tend more and more to attribute a value to objects or actions. By this measure, we value every action and thus we begin to compare things and actions. Comparison leads to people who do supposedly more valuable work not only feeling superior, but also expanding power. This power will sooner or later lead them to exploit it. Apart from this, "poverty discrimination" is created, which leads people to exclude others to the point of, among other things, food, that they eventually die.
But Helfa is not about "either/or", we try a soft union with many systems, rules, people and societies. For this reason we don't reject money completely, because not only we are dependent on it in this society, but almost everybody. That is why we are trying to build a ring of trust within the community, so that we can assume without fear that the work, the energy that we have put into something will not be lost. When we start trusting each other, we can stop counting up services and valuables and start deciding how we want to do something according to completely different points of view. Through this approach, the aspect of nature is much more in the foreground, as well as the quality of products, which is automatically increased because there is no profit in consuming a lot, but the work on it is reduced in a natural context. It also eliminates the "overhead" of work of managing all the money, dealing with it, etc. Professions such as merchants, bankers, tax offices, advertising industry bring nothing to society.If we were to abolish money would not really take anything away from us. On the contrary, with the freed labor force we could do more productive things and help society to live better.
Within the Helfa community we therefore try to live without money or at cost price. This does not mean that nobody is allowed to accept money gifts or to be supported anymore. Nor does it mean that we have to decide to live everywhere without money - on the contrary: it is even indispensable that we work and exchange with people outside the project as well, because a split is absolutely not desired (even if in some situations it is indispensable at first). That's why there is money and we can handle it - but it should not be our first choice to solve problems.
